At one of our retreats, Cass dropped an inspiration bomb about OPI. The world’s biggest nail polish brand did not start in beauty. It started in dentistry. The name stands for Odontorium Products Inc., a small dental supply company. Someone noticed that dentures and acrylic nails are built from the same chemistry, and the company followed that thread somewhere no one expected.

Cass’s point was that a company can evolve and build on what came before.

That’s our story too. Intelligent Futures started in community sustainability planning. From there we grew our engagement practice, then applied our strategy practice to an ever-growing array of impact domains, then moved into strategic foresight, and more recently into helping organizations navigate AI. Different work each time, same thread running through it: helping people make better decisions about what’s coming and have a positive impact.
