The Mid-Flight Check In

A structured pause to recalibrate your strategy before you’re off course.

The Problem

Strategic plans are built on assumptions. By year two or three of a multi-year plan, the world has shifted, internal priorities have evolved, and the original assumptions may no longer hold - but the plan keeps running as written. Without a structured moment to pause and recalibrate, organizations are left choosing between blindly executing an outdated plan or drifting without direction.

Meet The Mid-Flight Check In

A focused, facilitated check-in on your strategic plan, designed for organizations that are partway through a multi-year strategy and want to ensure they're still on course. Not a full refresh, but a purposeful pause that assesses progress, tests your original assumptions against current reality, and surfaces any adjustments needed for the remaining tenure.

How It Works

Pre-Session Review: IF reviews your strategic plan, available progress data, and any significant changes in your organization or environment since the plan was written. The session is informed before it begins , not discovered in the room.

Progress Audit: A structured walkthrough of where the plan actually stands. What is on track, what has stalled, what has been learned from implementation so far, and what the real barriers are. Evidence-based, not anecdotal.

Assumption Test: An honest examination of whether the conditions your plan was built on still hold. What has shifted — politically, economically, organizationally — and where the gap between original intent and current reality is widest.

Recalibration: A facilitated leadership conversation to agree on adjustments. What stays exactly as written, what needs to shift, and what should be set aside for the remaining tenure. Decisions made together, in the room, with an Updated Direction Memo delivered within two weeks.

Who Is This For?

Organizations 12 to 30 months into a multi-year strategic plan that want to make sure they're still pointed in the right direction, before it's too late to course-correct.

Ideal for organizations with active strategic plans who want to govern their strategy actively, not just report on it.
